It is never too late to start saving money

Do you have a nodding acquaintance with your finances?

It’s critical that women realize that they need to start saving money and investing as early as possible.

Back in the day, women expected their husbands to handle all things financial. Even if they were employed, most let their husbands handle paying bills, like insurance, mortgage payments and utilities.

Some women have never written a check. I’m sure that’s hard for many to believe in this day and age, but it’s true. Can you balance a check book? Can you add and subtract numbers correctly? Math is not everyone’s strong suit and some get confused.

Most of us will never inherit a large sum of money or win a lottery. But we need to be responsible for our own financial security.

It may be a while before you have a dual income and then even when you do, you want to have security on your own.

Women are more likely to be single in their later years due to divorce or being widowed. Women seem to outlive their husbands and find themselves alone at a most critical time of their life.
