Sometimes a short day trip is just what is needed for a pick up of your spirit. A refresh for your mind.

After all, a short day trip is better than no trip at all. A change of scenery is always a good thing.

We decided to visit some back roads in Southern Vermont in search of farmer’s markets, apple pies and cider donuts.

We started out in Westminster Vermont at Allen Brothers Farm Market. Here you can enjoy hot food, cider donuts, assorted coffees and some of the best cheese pizza anywhere!

There’s also fresh vegetables to enjoy and greenhouses. They sell beautiful garden statuary and indoor plants.

We had pizza and bought cider donuts and bottled drinks to enjoy. Then we started our driving adventure. We passed thru Bellow Falls on our way to Saxtons River.

Saxtons River is a quiet village with church steeples, a museum and a country store. Continuing on Route 121 to Cambridgeport, as you approach the village you’ll see the remains of an old mill from the 1800’s. This is…
