Thank you for taking the time to comment.

When I said everyone should keep a journal I was meaning that owners should record information for their use, because it can be hard to remember everything and if an emergency arises they may not be able to recall the info.

Dietary needs for dogs is important to know, because if someone is keeping your dog in an emergency they need to know what foods the dog eats. Some people think dogs can eat anything and feed them the low quality foods available in some big box stores. Or whatever.

Using my dogs as an example, I feed them only Freshpet. If they eat anything else, they get diarrhea. So, if that is recorded for possible caregivers that will help them to avoid unpleasantness.

Keeping information recorded about your dog is like keeping a journal for your passwords or your personal information on medicines you take or financial info for family in case of an emergency. It just makes life so much easier. I know this as I am dealing with the death of my husband and having to search for personal information, as he was not organized. It is a real scavenger hunt trying to piece information together and could have been avoided by writing down important information.

I enjoyed your article because it is very important.

I should have been clearer in my statement.

Thanks.
